Give yourself the chance to slow down, breathe in that crisp October air, and take yourself out to do something fun.

There are a few huge performances coming to Victoria on Wednesday, including famous country singer Dean Brody and punk quartet Billy Talent!

If you’re hoping for something quieter—but just as lively—check out the Fernwood Comedy Night or opening night for Victoria Festival of Authors.

Either way, you’re sure to find something to enjoy!

Dean Brody at McPherson Playhouse

Multi-platinum, iconic Canadian artist Dean Brody is coming to Victoria and is ready to rock the McPherson Playhouse stage!

He’s described as a passionate storyteller, an unmatched lyricist, and one of the greatest country singers of the time—Brody has risen and continues to remain at the top with an impressive 34 Top-10 singles (including 8 #1’s), 18 CCMA Awards, 2 JUNOs, more than 425+ million global streams and numerous gold and platinum certified singles (including 1 triple platinum and 3 double platinum).

Billy Talent at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre

The Canadian punk quartet Billy Talent is ready to blow Victoria away with their award-winning music!

This talented group broke out into mainstream success in 2003, when their Juno Award-winning debut Billy Talent went quadruple-platinum, sending them on an upward trajectory for much of the decade.

They’ve been slowly collecting a bigger and bigger following ever since, adding different elements to their music and style along the way!

They’ll be performing with special guest, Gob—described as Canadian pop punk pioneers.

Victoria Festival of Authors

This Wednesday marks the beginning of this year’s Victoria Festival of Authors—running from October 11th to 15th!

To kick off this exceptional event, a panel with Joseph Kakwinokanasum, Sonnet L’Abbé, Tim Lilburn, and Susan Sanford Blades will give audiences intimate insight into the process of writing.

This is an in-person panel and will take place at the Langham Court Theatre—ticket prices vary and can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Fernwood Comedy Night

Featuring some of Victoria’s funniest performers, the Fernwood Inn hosts a Comedy Night every month and you’re invited!

Come and check out this month’s headliner, Amit Solanki, along with other comedians, Matt Basky, Patricia Ellen, Shane Priestly, and Shenoa Tobin.

Tickets for the show are $15 and can be purchased here—keep in mind that this is a 19+ event!

PFC Playoffs

Soccer fans, you won’t want to miss this!

Knockout soccer is coming to Langford as Pacific Football Club hosts York United FC at Starlight Stadium in the opening match of the 2023 Canadian Premier League playoffs this Wednesday.
