Investigators with VicPD are seeking community assistance following a robbery incident that resulted in a woman sustaining injuries.
At approximately noon last Wednesday, a 59-year-old woman was targeted as she walked towards her vehicle in the 1900-block of Douglas Street.
Police said the assailant, approaching from behind, forcibly grabbed her purse, causing the victim to fall to the ground and dragged a short distance causing non-life-threatening injuries to her head, knees, and wrist.
The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s purse.
Witnesses reported the suspect boarding a BC Transit bus while fleeing. Fortunately, bystanders in the vicinity came to the aid of the injured victim.
Police described the suspect as being approximately 40-years-old, standing between 6’3″ tall, with a medium build. Descriptions indicate partially balding red-brown hair, along with a substantial beard.
