Looking for something fresh, exciting and mind-boggling? We’ve got something in store for you!

Returning for its second year, Intrepid Theatre is thrilled to present their Incoming Festival, a new festival with brand new performances promised to inspire, shock and excite.

It will take place from Thursday, April 11th to Saturday, April 20th at Metro Studio Theatre, located downtown!

The festival will feature a mix of local and touring artists, including some people that regulars may recognize and others that are making their debut!

“Incoming Festival is the newest festival from Intrepid Theatre, featuring an eclectic and electric programming of brand new work from artists from across the country and right here at home,” said Sean Guist, Artistic Director.

“There’s theatre, puppetry, cabaret, and free workshops at our three downtown venues. It’s a festival of premieres—every single show is a premiere, whether it’s a world premiere…a Victoria premiere…or a testing ground for new ideas.”

Fringe Favourite and Fraggle Rock puppeteer, Ingrid Hansen, will be included in the list of returning artists!

Making their Intrepid debut includes Montreal’s Kenny Streule and Toronto’s Nathaniel Hanula-James—both expected to become new audience favourites.

Other highlighted artists include Halifax’s Dustin Harvey, who will be playing with different theatrical forms and blurring the lines between audience and artist.

Introducing these wonderful acts will be local legend and cabaret guest curator, drag artist Peaches N Screams!

“We are also presenting a first for the company, a show that blends ASL, spoken word and captions, with Chris Dodd’s solo show Deafy,” Guist added.

“With an emphasis on presenting new work and fresh perspectives through guest curators and collaborations, Incoming Festival will present a daring, thought-provoking and engaging line-up. Join us for something new!”

Also returning for this year’s Incoming Festival includes the Get Into It: Idea Series, with workshops and other special events woven in throughout the festival.

They’re designed to teach attendees something new, open your mind to new perspectives and ideas and, naturally, keep the party going!

Ticket prices vary by show, so you can purchase individual tickets or buy their three-day pass

Similar to other Intrepid Theatre shows, Incoming Festival will offer their “Pay-What-You-10” tickets—which means that 10% of show tickets will be only $10.

This program is offered in an effort to make their programming more accessible to equity-seeking groups and individuals, newcomers, artists and anyone else for whom cost is a barrier.

We hope to see you there!
