In the early hours of Thursday morning, Saanich Police responded to a report of a car striking a tree in the 4500-block of Cedar Hill Road.
On December 1st, just after 1:30 a.m., officers arrived at the scene of the crash and located the vehicle off the side of the road on its side in a forested area near PKOLS (Mount Douglas Park).
The vehicle had only one occupant who was treated on scene by paramedics.
An SUV rolled and crashed into a tree early yesterday morning on Cedar Hill Rd. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

They determined the driver’s injuries were non-life threatening and transported him to hospital.
Police say they believe alcohol was a contributing factor to this collision, but the crash is still under investigation.
“While the driver was fortunate to walk away with non-serious injuries, this type of collision was completely preventable,” said Cst. Markus Anastasiades.
“Impaired driving can have tragic consequences. This collision comes on the heels of the start-up of our enhanced road checks that start tomorrow.”
According to police, they are increasing road checks to ensure Saanich’s roads are free of impaired driving around the holiday season when road conditions are already dangerous.
“The Winter Counter Attack campaign kicks off this weekend and we encourage all drivers to plan ahead to get home safely,” said Cst. Anastasiades.
