Saanich Police seek public assistance locating missing 12-year-old girl (UPDATED)

UPDATE: As of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, Jenessa Shacter has been located and is safely back home.

Earlier: Saanich Police are seeking public assistance in their search for missing Jenessa Shacter.

The 12-year-old girl was last seen at around 8 a.m. on the morning of Monday, September 16th when she was dropped off at the bus stop at 50 Burnside Road West.

She was supposed to have made her way to school, but never showed up.

Police believe Shacter may be in the company of an unknown adult male, and her family, friends, and officers are concerned for her well-being.

She is described as a Caucasian girl, standing 5’3″ tall, weighing 160 lbs, with medium length hair dyed orange and blonde.

As of Monday morning, she was wearing a black Adidas sweatshirt with a white logo, ripped blue jeans and white runners.

Saanich Police say this situation does not meet the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert, but no further information is available.
