Our Place Society will be serving an early Thanksgiving meal next Tuesday

Victoria’s most vulnerable are expected to attend an early Thanksgiving meal served at Our Place Society next week.

On Tuesday, October 8th, local politicians and other volunteers will be dishing out a full meal of turkey, potatoes, garden veg, and more to around 600 people.

“For many people who are struggling, we’re the closest thing to family they have,” says Don Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Our Place.

“Thanksgiving is a special time to be with loved ones and we want everyone to feel a sense of belonging and enjoy a great meal.”

The kitchen at Our Place Society is efficiently run and managed by Brian Cox who has expertly created delicious meals on a limited budget for three decades.

This year, the kitchen will preparing approximately 1,000 lbs of turkey, 500 lbs of potatoes, 250 lbs of stuffing, 200 lbs of vegetables, 25 gallons of gravy, 55 lbs of cranberry sauce, 125 pumpkin pies and 1,500 cups of coffee for their Thanksgiving meal.
