Nanaimo RCMP searching for missing 11-year-old boy (UPDATED)

UPDATED: An update from Nanaimo RCMP confirms that the 11-year-old has been found safe and sound as of 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.

Earlier: Nanaimo RCMP are seeking public assistance in their search for a missing child.

The 11-year-old boy has not been seen since approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday July 29 in the 300-block of Finlayson Street in Nanaimo.

He is an Indigenous boy standing 5’3″, weighing 120 lbs, and has blonde streaks in his otherwise dark hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket with white stripes, black track pants with white stripes, and black Crocs for shoes.

Given his age, his friends and caregivers are extremely worried for his safety and well being.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
