Comox Valley RCMP have released photos of a suspect in a robbery and assault that occurred in Courtenay Friday evening.

Police were called to a business in the 1000-block of Ryan Road in Courtenay at 8:20 p.m. on September 18.

A woman who was working inside said a man entered the store, approached her and stabbed her.

Another employee helped the victim while the suspect stole money and cigarettes.

The suspect fled through the front door and ran through the parking lot behind the Mex Pub and Washington Inn apartments.

“We are confident that there are people who will recognize the male or who may have seen the suspect after he left the store,” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Comox Valley RCMP Media Relations Officer.

“Please, if you were in the area, take the time to think back about everything you saw.”

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 20 to 30 years old, over 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a thin build.

He was wearing a cloth face mask, blue jeans and possibly a black “Iron Maiden” hoodie with white writing down the left arm.

Anyone with information, surveillance, or dashcam footage, is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321.

Those who wish to report information anonymously can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at comoxvalleycrimestoppers.bc.ca.
