Two flights to Vancouver Island from Calgary report COVID-19 exposures

Share

Two different flights headed to destinations on Vancouver Island from Calgary reported COVID-19 exposures last week.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), both flights were with Westjet in the last week of January.

The BCCDC lists passenger rows, where applicable, as an indicator of a higher risk due to proximity to the case.

The flights and their affected rows are:

  • Westjet flight 3315 on January 24th to Comox | Rows 3 to 9
  • Westjet flight 3109 on January 26th to Nanaimo | Rows 1 to 7

All passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

Effective March 27th, the BCCDC is no longer notifying passengers on affected flights about potential exposures. The information on affected flights is posted publicly on the BCCDC website.
