The Comox Valley RCMP are looking for witnesses after a pair of reports came in with similar details of a woman in possible distress.
On Wednesday at approximately 3:15 p.m, a caller reported seeing a vehicle being driven in the area of Lockwell Road and Fraser Road in Courtenay.
According to the caller, a woman was inside the vehicle who was crying, asking for help, and potentially trying to get out of the vehicle.
RCMP say that another call came in during the same timeframe, also describing a woman in the front passenger seat of the vehicle who was apparently in distress.
“After two calls of a similar nature, our level of concern is such that we would like to locate the vehicle as soon as possible so we can confirm this woman is alright,” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP.
Terragni said the incidents might not represent anything untoward but police are seeking the vehicle, the woman and the male driver to confirm everything is all right.
Witnesses describe the vehicle as a grey Chrysler Sedan, approximately five to seven years old, possibly a 300 or 500 model, with a BC Licence plate similar to MT7611.
The passenger in potential distress was described as a white woman in her 30s with long dark hair.
The driver is described as a white male in his 40s, possibly wearing glasses.
Anyone with information on these reports is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP right away at (250) 338-1321.
If anyone sees the vehicle matching the above description and someone still appears to be in distress, they should call 911 immediately.
